Tagging a Reddit Post As NSFW After Posting

You can mark an already posted adult-themed content with an NSFW tag. The process is a bit different on mobile devices and PCs.

On a Reddit Mobile App

Follow these steps to mark an existing post as NSFW on Reddit mobile app:

1. Open the Reddit app on your mobile device.
2. Tap on your avatar in the top right corner.
3. Select “My profile.”
4. Scroll to the post with the NSFW content.
5. Click the three dots on the right side of your post.  
6. Select “Mark NSFW.”

On a Reddit Browser Version

Follow these steps to mark an existing post as NSFW on the Reddit browser version:

1. Navigate to Reddit on your favorite browser.
2. Click on your username in the top right corner.
3. Select “Profile.”
4. Click on the “Posts” tab at the top.
5. Find the post with NSFW content.
6. Tap the three dots at the bottom of the post.
7. Select “Mark As NSFW.”

Once you click the “Mark AS NSFW” button, Reddit will add the NSFW label to your post.

Tagging a Reddit Post As NSFW Before Posting

You can also tag a post as NSFW before posting it on Reddit. You can do it in two methods. Below, we will explain these methods on both the desktop version and the mobile app.

Method #1: Click the NSFW Button

This method is a straightforward way to mark posts as NSFW.

On Reddit Mobile App

Follow these steps to achieve the goal on the Reddit mobile app:

1. Launch the Reddit app on your mobile device.
2. Press the “+” button at the bottom.
3. Choose our post type at the bottom.
4. Enter a title and compose your post.
5. Tap “Next” in the top right corner.
6. Select a subreddit.
7. Tap the “Tag NSFW” tag underneath your post. 
8. Hit the “Post” button.

On a Reddit Browser Version

Follow these steps to complete this method on the Reddit browser version:

1. Navigate to Reddit on a web browser.
2. Click the “Create Post” button on the right side.
3. Choose a subreddit.
4. Select post type.
5. Add the title to your post and compose the body.
6. Click on the “+NSFW” tag.
7. Click the “Post” button.

Method #2: Adding an NSFW to Your Title

You can also mark your post’s title as NSFW. It will warn other Redditors that your post contains profanity, nudity, or sexually suggestive content. To add the label see the instructions below.

On Reddit Mobile App

Here is how to add the “NSFW” tag to the post title on the mobile app:

1. Open the Reddit app on your smartphone.
2. Hit the “+” icon at the bottom.
3. Choose the post type. 
4. Add a title describing your post. 
5. Enter the acronym “NSFW” to the title. Enclose the “NSFW” in brackets “( )” or “[ ]” to differentiate it from the rest of your title. You can add “NSFW” before or at the end of your title. 
6. Compose your post. 
7. Choose a subreddit. 
8. Hit the “Post” button. 

On a Reddit Browser Version

Here is how to add the “NSFW” tag to the post title on the browser version:

1. Navigate to Reddit on your favorite web browser.
2. Click the “Create Post” button on the right side.
3. Choose a subreddit.
4. Pick your post type.
5. Type in your title.
6. Add the acronym “NSFW” enclosed in brackets to your title.
7. Compose your post. 
8. Click the “Post” button to submit your post.
