Method # 1: Check your Chat in Messenger

You can check if their Facebook account is still up by checking your conversation with them on Messenger.

1. Open Messenger.
2. Type their name in the search bar.
   
3. Their name will pop up – if you can see their profile picture, it means that their account is still up.
4. Open the chat. If you don’t see an option to send messages to them, their account may be deleted or deactivated.

Method # 2: Check the Friends list of a Mutual Friend

Upon searching their name in the Facebook search bar, two of the following things will happen:

You can use this method If you still can’t tell if they deleted their Facebook account or if you want to find out if they blocked you or deactivated their Facebook account.

1. Ask your friend to search their profile on Facebook. If they can see their profile in the search results, open their profile and see the contents, we have bad news for you. You’ve been blocked by them.
2. If even your friend is not able to see their profile in the search results, they may have deleted or deactivated their Facebook account.
