Installing Windows Server 2012

In this tutorial, we are going to go through the steps to install Windows Server 2012. Microsoft continues to improve the installation process. If you have installed Windows Server 2008/2008 R2, you will find that the installation of Server 2012 is very similar.

  1. If you already have Windows Server 2012 on DVD media, that’s great. If not, you can download a fully functional trial version from the Microsoft website.
  2. Boot from the DVD media, ISO, or VHD (if you are running this as a VM guest).

  5. Since you are performing an installation, click on Install Now.   6. In this tutorial, we are going to install Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition (GUI). The default is the Core Installation.
